The Christ in Jerusalem, denied...(2002)
by Peter Menkin

The sunlight in the yard
awakened me to Palm Sunday--
as we gathered on ground
that was labrynth.

Our minds engaged,
lifting our hearts
for the week, so to last
with Christ.

We went to the walk
of liturgy and prayer.

Chilling theatre. We said:
He deserves death.

Later we spoke more words
from the Gospel--together.
"Prophesy to us, you Christ!"

There was the reminder
of Peter.

"Certainly you are also one of them,
for your accent betrays you."
